Cassius Clay (AKA Mohammed Ali) - (as Cassius Clay, he won the gold medal in semiheavy weight, Rome, 1960: he threw the medal to a river after he was refused entrance to a restaurant, somewhere in Dixie)

I was there, at the stadium, when Beamon flew.
35 years have passed, and it's still the Olympic record.

Actually yes. The games of the XIX Olympiad were held in Mexico City. I was 14.
I've only seen other Olympic Games in situ. Barcelona '92.
