We live in Sunnyvale, CA, the heart of Silicon Valley. Our population is a bit over 140,000 with the majority being Asians (over 40%). When we moved here in the mid-seventies, we were the only Asian family in our area. Now, many of our neighbors are Asian.

We have a moderate climate with lows in the 40's and highs over 100 degrees, but it's never that hot inside our home. We use our central air about one week out of the year. Otherwise, a floor fan does the trick. Our greatest benefit is the high tech industry that has kept our economy pretty strong, but home prices in our ZIP code have escalated too quickly.

My wife loves it here, because of the climate, the safety of our community with good schools, good government (many local, state, and federal government reps have visited our city to learn how it's run), close to our friends and family, and we're close to the ocean, San Francisco and the Napa wine country, and the Sierra Nevada Mountains - all within a four hour drive. My wife volunteers at the Kaiser Hospital a block from where we live, and she also volunteers at the public library.

We're planning on staying in this area after we move to a retirement community in a few years.

It's a **** hole.
