I like the Scandinavian painters as a rule, paintings with sky and water.
As an representative for what I like I choose a German - Frank Meisel

This may the only "uplifting" painting by Edvard Munch: "The Sun." It would be nice to wake up every morning and see this on the wall.

@djjd62,
Because I love the Breugels so much I have now discovered Kurelek, thanks to you....only to see that he is now dreaded.

I see the Breugel, but I see more Bosch so far. Back to Kurelek.

@djjd62,
Itd have to be a Rockwell Kent painting , but which one?

Today, itd probably be this one from Monhegan Island in a seasonal portrait , looking across at Little Manana Island

     http://images.metmuseum.org/CRDImages/ma/web-large/DT11543.jpg

He was a mmaster of light and shadow in an almost abstract manner. See how he paints the edge of Manana Island with light

@farmerman,
I love all kinds of paintings but if Ize tobe allowed only one, I could Not have an abstract or post Impressionist or colorist, theyd freak me out. If I had a large collection , then yes, Id hve all kinds of abstracts. But only one piece that youd see every day, Abstracts , nope.

@farmerman,
I also love all kinds of paintings, why this us so hard, no matter my mentioning a pope. I gave a jolly one (apparently no one looked at it or all disliked it) but I've intense interest in paint play. Well, there we go, I like paint.

Photography, Sculpture, many yes.

Choosing is impossible.

@tsarstepan,
I have always loved this painting, and I've never tired of looking at it. I certainly wouldn't mind having to keep it indefinitely.
