neil. This would be a difficult procedure on Star Trek.

Patrick STewart maybe could have pulled it off but Kirk would have overacted the scene and Spock would hgave gotten all analytical and the cloaking would have been lost as a convincing story device.

Nevertheless, they could do it on Star Trek Enterprise, I only watched 2 of those and both sucked very badly.
