I'm sticking with this. Okay, I really want Scene emo side swept bangs, because their AWESOME and CUTE. But how do I ask /describe them to the hairdresser? And how do you style them? Also, I have quiet thick hair.

I just googled the style you've described.
There are quite literally thousands of pix of young women with emo side swept bangs. If the stylist doesn't know what you're talking about, I'd actually suggest talking to a different stylist. This has been a 'style'for well over 20 years now, any stylist who graduated in the past couple of decades should have had the style as part of their instruction.
