Cahokia was inhabited for 700 years starting about 700 AD and had a population that was as much as 100,000. It is about 50 miles from St Louis and is the largest archeological site in the US.

Thanks for the pictures. I have been to St. Louis and was very impressed by the Arch and St. Louis. It is something which always brings out good memories.

The CIA/SIS spy-tunnel from Berlin, planned and constructed beginning in 1953 to tap Soviet communication lines in the eastern part of the city. Discovered by the Russians in 1955/6. Last parts of the tunnel (equipments) were only found in 2012.

Did you know they had to design a build a unique elevator system that stays upright at all times? I took my family there in the early sixties, and also visited Six Flags amusement park when we lived in Naperville.
