@izzythepush,
No - because I do not like high bridges and I arrived by train from Victoria Station.

@saab,
I was just joking. I don't really think you're mean.
Itchen bridge, another bloody toll bridge, and I have to admit I avoid using it as much as possible.

I know someone who jumped off there for a £5 bet. He only found out later that it was a popular suicide spot and he was lucky to be alive.

@izzythepush,
Friends and their (male) acquaintances jumped down from the Tay Railway Bridge after stag night/bachelor party. Which was a bad idea (or perhaps not so bad) because the groom's f-i-l to-be was JP on one side of the forth, his aunt-to-be on the other ...

The world’s very first iron bridge, erected over the River Severn, England, in 1779.

@Walter Hinteler,
Absolutely, Walt.

That's because it's a gorgeous gorge.

The "Wertherbrücke" in Wuppertal ...

http://i1334.photobucket.com/albums/w641/Walter_Hinteler/a_zps79e2f342.jpg

... is quite normal. The station of the Wuppertal Suspension Railway ("Schwebebahn") with the name name, however, is a pretty "Jugendstil" (art déco) œuvre
