@Opsimath,
Its a silent movie that's been rehashed , but the answer is the unique cinematic experience.

@bennattod,
I think the problem is that we don't know what constitutes a unique cinematic experience!

@bennattod,
So they were all involved in the same film rather than different versions?

@Opsimath,
logging off now, this is the final hint on question 40.
one anagram is a composer still active, another is the director of the silent movie, many years deceased, the third anagram is a person i have never heard of before who is effectively the rehasher.

Good luck

@bennattod,
this definitely is the last word , for "rehasher" read "restorer"

@Opsimath,
I haven't got 40 yet but you can get BRANDO and also ROBINSON from the anagram. Brando seems the more likely but I haven't been able to tie him in with anything specific. My feeling is that we are looking for a particular film which represents a milestone in cinema history.

I'm really stuck on 16 by the way so if you are feeling in a generous mood a hint would be much appreciated.
