Lucid and well written. Is Friedman considered a left leaner?

Panzade, many on A2K consider Friedman to be too conservative. I've always found him to be moderate and usually ahead of the curve in his research and thinking---and he's often eventually found to be correct.

I know I've read him before. I even like Coulter if she helps me be less of a hypocrite.

Panzade, sorry, I've never found Coulter to be helpful or likeable. I think she is a hate monger for hire. I don't like people who make their money spreading hatered against others who think differently than she does.

The editorial writers can write but is anyone listening. What is needed is a rethinking of our system of higher education, specifically funding. The cost is becoming prohibitive for to many of the best and the brightest. I wonder whether the students in China and India have to worry about funding their education. If we want to continue to be competitive a well educated population is an imperative.
