It was a private school and they expected the kids to learn their letters before entering. They actually started learning cursive writing in kindgeraten too. I was skeptical about it - but both of my girls have significantly better hand writing than I do. And they didn't seem to have an issue with it.

Public school all you need to do is be able to go potty by yourself.

My daughter's daughter is now learning letters at 19 months. My daughter was wearing a t-shirt with words on it and the baby pointed and said, "What dat read?" She 'reads' her books to her stuffed animals but then she bends over and says hi to ants.

Hi Linkat,
You should try videos for teaching your little daughter that will help you more because child can learn easily while listening and watching.

Thank you for your idea/thoughts --- my daughter is now 16 and fortunately she did learn her letters she is now reading shakespeare so I figure she did ok.
