Is Kantharos not an entry in the Merriam-Webster Unabridged Dictionary, as opposed to the Merriam Webster Online Dictionary?

Bib, sometime earlier this year when Merriam Webster started listed words from the Unabridged and Collegiate dictionaries by saying "kantharos is one of more than 1,000,000 entries available at Merriam-WebsterUnabridged.com. Click here to start your free trial!" and such, I decided to accept those words in the game. It lets us play each round longer, and puts more words into play.

The only words I don't accept are words that give you the response "The word you've entered isn't in the dictionary" when you look them up at www.m-w.com .

Sure, that's fine, I understand your reasoning, but what about those members to don't have access to the MWUD - how do they check other details such as plurals and adjective variants etc?

Why allow words to be used from an online dictionary (ie MWUD) that is not freely accessible?

The plurals and adjective variants of the words in question will not work at www.m-w.com - you get the response "The word you've entered isn't in the dictionary" - so there's no need to have access to the Unabridged dictionary.
