legerdemain
(I've been sitting here thinking, we're only two letters away from "legerdemain," but couldn't figure out how to bridge the gap!)
Good one, I didn't see that coming. I notice that def. 2 is a countable noun, so
LEGERDEMAINS is probably OK! Don't like it much though.
Amazingly, there is at least one word that can follow LEGERDEMAINS.
Add a Y to LEGERDEMAINS to get the next word.
semilegendary!
Mac, I can't believe Asperger's with or without the apostrophe isn't in m-w (I believe you, I just am amazed it isn't there) do you call it something different in the States?
We call it Asperger's in the U.S., but I guess m-w just hasn't caught up with it yet.
Just out of curiosity (and boredom at work), I looked up a few other "named" diseases, and discovered that "Alzheimer's disease", "Parkinson's disease", and "Hodgkin's disease" are all listed in m-w. However, they're listed as parts of phrases, not as individual words, which means that "Alzheimer's", "Parkinson's", and "Hodgkin's" wouldn't be allowed for purposes of this game.
There is at least one word that can follow PILAFS.
