Make the equation become a = (something). Move the 3 to the other side of the = sign and
change / to x
change x to /
change + to -
change - to +
a = 1 x 3
examples
a x 3 = 1
a = 1/3
a + 3 = 1
a = 1 - 3
a = -3
a - 3 = 1
a = 1 + 3
a = 4
Check if you have got it right by thinking about it and seeing if it makes sense.
