It's a pretty old problem, but still interesting.
How many ways are there to make a dollar out of coins? Includes pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars.

how many ways to change a dollar
well, it just so happens there are 293 ways and belive me that is alot but if not using these "half dollars" which i rarely see people using there would be 242 ways using penies, nickles, dimes and quarters. If you dont belive me you can go through 8 pages i think of work. I posted this up so people can take the lazy way out.
Well try this: How many ways to make change for a Euro.
50c, 20c, 10c, 5c, 2c, 1c
Whim
Euro: 4562 Really mark? I didn't know the answer just thought up the question. It an unbelievable number.
Is there a way to show how to calculate that?
I wrote a program. It's the 2c coin that drives the number so high. In the dollar problem, there will always be a multiple of five pennies. However, with a 2c coin that's not the case. Multiples of five can be created in various ways with 1c and 2c.
