That is called a "the end justifies the means" argument. Hitler used that alot too.

This is making front page headlines - the sanitised version is here:

As to the war - WARNING: a very distrubing path to the article about American soldiers torturing Iraqis:

stemming from the 60 minutes story that showed the torture and rape of Iraqi women:

So I won't give the direct link so no one will be accidentally offended and to avoid breaking our posting guidelines. But the wise can investigate this if they are concerned:

So when you made the swamp, then enlarged it, then removed the lizards and supplied alligators instead, then you fed them till they were mean and ugly, and finally they start turning feral on you, it is time to go back to first principles and ask what you did wrong.

I am glad you admit to all the wrong your goverment has done to the entire world, even if you have no wish to correct it, generally acknowledge it, or simply rationalise it by saying we give lotsa aid too. Personally I feel that past US administrations were simply naive dabbling so heavily and ruthlessly in foreign matters they never understood deeply. This generation and the next have to pay for their mistakes. After sitting on the sidelines for so long in War World 2 - its like they over corrected every single time after to protect their interests.
