GĂ©rard Depardieu is only 64 and he hasn't aged well. A much younger and fitter Depardieu would have made a great Starfleet Captain. Still... he could become a recurring role as a Starfleet Admiral.

or as the starfleet rapist. I loathe and despise that man.

Omar Epps, for sure.

David Tennant. That way the Star Trek/Dr. Who fanbase could be consolidated.

Personally I wish hollywood would ditch the tired old Star Trek franchise and produce a brandnew sci-fi series of some sort.
Same with the BBC, I wish they'd scrap the ridiculous Dr Who and produce something new

Captain of the Enterprise?

Anyone from the cast of the superb film Galaxy Quest. Preferably Alan Rickman.

I liked Ronny Cox's tough attitude when he was put in temporary command of the Enterprise, he'd make a good new captain instead of that poncey Picard..Smile

Hey Sarah Palin would make a great captain!

(Scene 1- Enterprise is orbiting earth)
SCIENCE OFFICER- "Captain, our sensors detect a mass of life forms on the Alaskan shoreline, it could be a Klingon scouting party.....no wait.....now postiively identified as a moose herd"
CAPTAIN PALIN- "Hit them with phasers and photon torpedos, maximum intensity!"
SCIENCE OFFICER- "But why Captain?"
CAPTAIN PALIN- "They might be Russian commie mooses that have swum across the Bering Strait. And mister, if you ever question an order of mine again you'll spend the rest of your career slopping out the latrines at Star Fleet Academy"

I would like to see Sean Connery in the role, though he may be getting a bit old for the role.

@coluber2001,
Yeah Connery would be great-
CAPTAIN CONNERY (on hail to Klingon captain) "You fired 6 photon torpedoes at us but our shields absorbed them all, so now surrender!"
KLINGON- "Ha! I will hit you with more!"
CONNERY- "No you won't, our sensors show you have none left, you've had your six!"

Or Clint....

" I know what you're thinking.....did he fire five torpedoes or six, (etc )Well? Do you feel lucky, Klingon?"

@Lordyaswas,
Haha yes they better not mess with Clint!
KLINGON CAPTAIN (bluffing on hail)- "Our vessel is far more powerful than yours earthling, surrender now and we may let you live"
CAPTAIN CLINT- "Well, are you gonna use them phaser banks or whistle dixie?"

Jimmy Cagney would certainly get the job done too-
Klingon-"Surrender now, earthling"
Captain Cagney- "Huuuh...huuuh...huuuh..."

Hey, Kerr Avon (Paul Darrow, below) from Blakes Seven would make a good tough no-nonsense Enterprise captain, he'd be like Picard but without the wishy-washy diplomacy..Smile

PS- mind you Darrow is getting on a bit now so he'd also make a good older Dr Who, I'm fed up with the string of immature overgrown schoolboys who've played the Doctor in recent years.
He's already said in a youtube interview that he wouldn't mind being Dr Who, "But" he added, "I'd play him MY way"..Smile

Avon in action-

@Romeo Fabulini,
And at the ((cough)) ((cough)) spritely age of 72, I'm certain the Federation would happily have him ... captain a ship.

Denzel Washington comes to mind, and he's the right age too.

Now, regarding female Star Trek commanders--Captain Janeway in Star Trek: Voyager my favorite of the series--if we could resurrect Katherine Hepburn, that would be admiral. However, in reality Judi Dench would be grand. Possibly, Meryl Streep because she's such a chameleon she could probably pull it off if anybody could.
