@Miller,
In the book of Kohelet Solomon says:“It is better to listen to a wise man’s reproof than to listen to the praise of fools”

@panzade,
O you who linger in the garden,
A lover is listening;
Let me hear your voice.
"Hurry, my beloved,
Swift as a gazelle of a young stag,
To the hills of spices!"

@Miller,
The Song Of Solomon, though it has been appropriated by religious groups, has no mention of God or Israel.
It is thought to be a collection of Syrian, Persian and Greek love poems.
A beautiful work Miller

Oh you're a clever bloke!
As we used to say in the public school when someone dropped a plate of food:
COMMENDABLE!

@panzade,
No. I believe it comes from names of the old English coaching inns that were positioned opposite one another out in the middle of nowhere, where the horses were changed and the passengers often stayed the night.

These passengers would eat and drink their fill, and invarioubly end up telling tales to one another to while away the time before bed.
This spinning a yarn came to be known as telling a cock and bull story.

The Inns still exist. (Stony Stratford)
