I found a rock slab on the shore of Lake Huron. The outter layer has dark aqua spots. On the inside it is smooth and looks like white glass with lines of aqua and purple through it.

@Mandieb,
Dale's right, we're gonna need a photo in order to help with the identification. Try to provide a large scale and close-up perspective with something like a coin for a frame of reference. Then we should be able to help. Thanks.

@Mandieb,
Step 1. Do you have a photo of the rock loaded on your computer?

@Mandieb,
It looks like a slab of agate that has been cut with a diamond rock saw.

Farmerman will probably be along soon to give you more information.

@mesquite,
Certainly does. I would be surprised to learn that that was its appearance when found in a natural state.

@mesquite,
Cool, glad to get some kind of answer. My husband was freaked out when he found it as was I. Here we are walking along the shore for some cool stones to take home as souvenirs. When he first spotted it he thought it was a piece of glass.

To me it looks like a Slice from a Geode. Here's another example of a Geode Slice:

A lot of geodes are hollow and people slice them to see the crystals inside. But some geodes are solid and sometimes people slice off the ends of them just for show.

Yours also has an inclusion in it which is similar to the edge of a hollow spot, or to a filled in hollow spot. Yours lacks some of the striations of a full blow Geode, but some are like that. Also it could be an edge piece with little variation (which may be why it was discarded).

Farmerman will know more. He's the resident expert on this type of thing.
