I think there are theists who think anything is possible.

So you think that there are theists who think the devil created their God. Rolling Eyes

Do you know of one that makes this claim?

OK so this is what you think but you do not know. Why aren't you agnostic on this position rather than believing what you think?

I think there are some atheists who think anything is possible.

I am not sure of what you are inferring with your question about my agnosticism on this issue.

You are simply defining atheism as the absence of a belief in gods.

I do not accept that definition.

I do not have a belief in gods...and I am not an atheist.

That is the current definition... not my definition.

Atheists have a lack of belief. Agnostics have a lack of knowledge.

Therefore you can be an 'agnostic atheist' if you have a lack of belief in gods because there is not enough knowledge to assert either way.

Again it is not my definitions but the contemporary definitions of atheism and agnosticism; the first is about belief the second about knowledge.

You Frank, are continuously telling everyone who'll listen that you don't do belief.... that at the very least makes you an atheist as explained above.

Thank you for sharing that, igm. But I also have very strongly mentioned that I am not an atheist.

Accept that. I know you atheists want me to be an atheist also...but you cannot have me.

a-theism: Literally "Without belief in gods"

No it doesn't.

If I have to be categorized...I am an agnostic.

I am willing to accept...non-theist.

How is this different than a theist claiming that he thinks that a serpent spoke to a lady in the garden of eden? He can bring no evidence forward to make his claim.
You have not brought forth an atheist who believes anything is possible.

Even if you brought one forward that made the claim we could easily prove by questioning him that his thinking does not match up with what he claims to be reality.

If you think that...then that is what you think. I am not going to demand that you bring forward "proof" of what you think.

But you seem to be demanding "proof" of what I think.

I think what I think, RL.

So what is your point?

I will stick with non-theist. You choose how you want to identify yourself. Wink

Just joking with you Frank.

Could you imagine how your friends and family would react if you told them you were an atheist?

They would know I was lying.

They already know what I think of the "god" (the one from the Bible)...and I get no bad reactions from them.

@Setanta,
Silly? Hmmmm

Anyway, so if you're not a theist, you are an atheist? Simple as that?

Of course and you tell them there may be a God but not that one. What would they think if you told them you are almost certain a God does not exist?

@Frank Apisa,
By the way...in case you are asking if they would be bothered if I were an atheist (which may be what you are almost asking)...I doubt very, very seriously if my friends or family would give a damn one way or another.

Is that what you were trying to ask?
