I love Reinlistment Blues. Merle Travis performed it in the movie. I wonder who played the bugle when Clift played Taps. That really moved me.

I'm not going to answer because I googled, and I was really surprised that Tim Hardin wrote it. If it's the one you mean, Darin recorded it. I'll always associate it with someone else, though.

I think you are considering the wrong song. Darin wrote a Tim Hardin hit and Tim Hardin also wrote a Bobby Darin hit.
