Just to keep the game alive.....

New Question.......

here's the lyrics....... Who wrote these lyrics???.......

You are the crown of creation
You are the crown of creation
And you've got no place to go

Soon you'll attain the stability you strive for
In the only way that it's granted
In a place among the fossils of our time

In loyalty to their kind
They cannot tolerate our minds
And in loyalty to our kind
We cannot tolerate their obstruction

Life is change
How it differs from the rocks
I've seen their ways too often for my liking
New worlds to gain
My life is to survive
And be alive
For you

who wrote this fine opus and when - (recorded by Pete Hampton)

One one summer's day,
Sun was shinin' fine,
The lady love of old Bill Bailey
Was hangin' clothes on the line
In her back yard,
And weepin' hard.
She married a B&O brakeman
That took and throwed her down,
Bellerin' like a prune-fed calf
With a big gang hanging round
And to that crowd,
She hollered loud:
Refrain:
Won't you come home, Bill Bailey
Won't you come home?
She moans the whole day long.
I'll do the cookin', darling
I'll pay the rent,
I know I've done you wrong;
'member that rainy eve that
I threw you out,
With nothing but a fine-tooth comb?
I know I'm to blame,
Well, ain't that a shame
Bill Bailey won't you please come home.

Bill drove by that door
In an automobile,
A great big diamond, coach and footman
Hear that lady squeal.
He's all alone
I heard her groan.
She hollered through the door
Bill Bailey, is you sore?
Stop a minute, listen to me
Won't I see you no more?
Bill winks his eye
As he heard her cry:

We're still working on Beedlesquoink's question.......

in the meantime..... here's a new question......

who wrote these lyrics.....

I'm a roaming cowboy, riding all day long
Tumbleweeds around me sing their lonely song
Nights underneath a prairie moon
I ride alone and sing a tune
See them tumbling down
Pledging their love to the ground
Lonely but free I'll be found
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds

Cares of the past are behind
Nowhere to go but I'll find
Just where the trail will wind
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds

I know when night has gone that a new world's born at dawn

I'll keep rolling along
Deep in my heart is a song
Here on the range I belong
Drifting along with the tumbling tumbleweeds

Hi, PeaceandLove,

Guessing, but I think Bob Nolan wrote it.

Predecessor to oldandknew's Bill Bailey was this:

Ain't that a Shame

Ain't that a shame,
A measly shame,
To leave your honey
Out in the rain
(oh, Lordy have a little pity)

Won't you open that door,
And let me in.
I stand hear freezin'
Right wet to the skin.

My dad taught me that.

Staying with singing cowboys - Roy Rogers had Dale Evans, Trigger and a jeep named? Bonus, who was the side kick who always drove the jeep? Sing us out with their song -------------

Happy Trails to you, until we meet again.
Happy Trails to you, keep smilin' until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weather.
Happy Trails to you, until we meet again...

New Question.....

here's the lyrics.... who wrote these lyrics???....

Back through the years I go wanderin' once again,
Back to the seasons of my youth.
I recall a box of rags that someone gave us,
And how my momma put the rags to use.
There were rags of many colors, an' every piece was small.
And I didn't have a coat, and it was way down in the fall.
Momma sewed the rags together, sewin' every piece with love.
She made my coat of many colors, that I was so proud of.

As she sewed, she told a story, from the bible, she had read,
About a coat of many colors, Joseph wore, and then she said:
"Perhaps this coat will bring you good luck and happiness."
And I just couldn't wait to wear it and momma blessed it with a kiss

My coat of many colors, that my momma made for me,
Made only from rags but I wore it so proudly.
Although we had no money, I was rich as I could be.
In my coat of many colors, my momma made for me.

So with patches on my britches, an' holes in both my shoes,
In my coat of many colors, I hurried off to school,
Just to find the others laughing, and making fun of me,
In my coat of many colors my momma made for me.

And oh, I couldn't understand it for I felt that I was rich.
And I told them of the love my momma sewed in every stitch.
And I told 'em all the story momma told me while she sewed,
And how my coat of many colors was worth more than all their clothes.

But they didn't understand it and I tried to make them see,
That one is only poor only if they choose to be.
Now I know we had no money, but I was rich as I could be,
In my coat of many colors my momma made for me.
Made just for me.
