Well, the song is "Tie me kangaroo down, sport". first performd by Rolf Harris, that former Aussie that we deported to England. As far as I know, or could find out, it was written by him, too.

I note, while searching, that it has been recorded by "The Wiggles". Watch out, parents of young children - you'll be singing it soon!

New Question.
I found this while trawling I've never heard of it. Can anyone identify it? English group?!

Australia, the chance of a lifetime
Australia, you get what you work for
Nobody has to be any better than what they want to be
Australia, no class distinction
Australia, no drug addiction
Nobody's got a chip on their shoulder
We'll surf like they do in the U.S.A.
We'll fly down to Sydney for our holiday
On sunny Christmas Day
Australia, Australia
No one hesitates at life or beats around the bush in Australia
So if you're young and if you're healthy
Why not get a boat and come to Australia
Australia sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la
Australia sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la
Everyone walks around with a perpetual smile across their face
Australia sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la
Australia sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la
Everyone gets around and nobody can ever get you down
We'll surf like they do in the U.S.A.
We'll fly down to Sydney for our holiday
On sunny Christmas Day
Australia, Australia

Hi margo......

I found that song, listed on a Kinks album "Arthur (Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire)". The album was a soundtrack for a BBC show that was never broadcast.... But, I couldn't find an audio clip.... Ah, at times like this, I really miss Napster!!!

New Question.....

here's the lyrics.....

"Let us be lovers, we'll marry our fortunes together"
"I've got some real estate here in my bag"
So we bought a pack of cigarettes and Mrs. Wagner pies
And we walked off to look for _______.

"Kathy" I said as we boarded a Greyhound in Pittsburgh
"Michigan seems like a dream to me now"
It took me four days to hitchhike from Saginaw
I've gone to look for _______.

Laughing on the bus, Playing games with the faces
She said the man in the gabardine suit was a spy
I said "Be careful, his bowtie is really a camera"

"Toss me a cigarette, I think there's one in my raincoat"
"We smoked the last one an hour ago"
So I looked at the scenery, she read her magazine
And the moon rose over an open field

"Kathy, I'm lost" I said, though I knew she was sleeping
I'm empty and aching and I don't know why
Counting the cars on the New Jersey turnpike
They've all gone to look for _______.

.......name that tune.......

Very Happy

I'm her eight old man, I'm Henry
Henry the 8th I am I am
Henry the 8th I am.

In his 1958 instrumental hit ****he invented the power chord, the basis of modern rock guitar-playing from thrash to heavy metal. He is the missing link in the history of rock guitar in that he is not often given credit for being the connection between early blues guitarists and the late '60s gods (Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Pete Townshend, etc.).
who is he?

Hi dyslexia.....

Link Wray, in "Rumble", is credited for inventing the power chord used in rock music.

New Question......

here's the lyrics....... who wrote these lyrics?.....

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she moves me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how

Somewhere in her smile she knows
All I gotta do is think of her
Something in her style that shows me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how

You're asking me will our love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around and it may show
I don't know, I don't know

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she moves me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how

You're asking me will our love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around and it may show
I don't know, I don't know

Something in the way she moves
All I gotta do is think of her
Something in her style that shows me
I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe and how

who wrote this elderly little number

Alas! my love you do me wrong
to cast me off discourteously
when I have loved you so long,
delighting in your company!

Greensleeves is my delight,
Greensleeves is all my joy
Greensleeves, my heart of gold
and who but my Lady Greensleeves?

I have been ready at your hand
to grant whatever you would crave!
I have both wagered life and land
your love and good will for to have!

Greensleeves is my delight,
Greensleeves is all my joy
Greensleeves, my heart of gold
who but my Lady Greensleeves?

Well, I will pray to God on high
that thou my constant sea may see
and that yet once before I die
thou will doth say to love me!

Greensleeves is my delight,
Greensleeves is all my joy
Greensleeves, my heart of gold
and who but my Lady Greensleeves?

Who but my Lady Greensleeves?
