Lyrics from the first RCA album to sell a million copies:
Jackass who jump and bray
Lawdy let him bray

Every time I'm away from Liza water come to me eye

Brown skin girl stay home and mind baby
I'm goin away in a sailing boat
And if I don't get back stay home and mind baby

the rum is fine any time of year

Starlight come and I carry me load

You guys got it right. I have always been intrigued by the fact the second side of the album begins with STAR-O, which is a flip version of DAY'O. Another aside; at the final recording session they were short by one song. Over a twnty miute time period they wrote DOLLY DAWN. It remains the weakest link on an otherwise wonderful album.

New Question.....

here's the lyrics......

Slow down, you move too fast
You got to make the morning last
Just kicking down the cobble stones
Looking for fun and feelin' groovy

Hello lamp post, what ya knowing
I've come to watch your flowers growing
Ain't you got no rhymes for me
Doot-in' doo-doo, feelin' groovy

Da-da-da-da-da-da-da, feelin' groovy

I got no deeds to do, no promises to keep
I'm dappled and drowsy and ready to sleep
Let the morning time drop all its petals on me
Life, I love you, always groovy

New Question.....

(we've got a little theme going here)

here's the lyrics......

There are stars in the southern sky
Southward as you go
There is moonlight and moss in the trees
Down the ______ ______ ______.

Now I have loved you like a baby
Like some lonesome child
And I have loved you in a tame way
And I have loved you wild

Sometimes there's a part of me
Has to turn from here and go
Running like a child from these warm stars
Down the ______ ______ ______.

There are stars in the southern sky
And if ever you decide you should go
There is a taste of time sweetened honey
Down the ______ ______ ______.

.......name that tune.......

I love that song. The Seven Bridges Road? Anyway, I have Joan Baez doing that one (I love Baez). I don't know who did the original and if I'm right, I pass on a question. Just sticking my two cents worth in, because I couldn't resist. Laughing

Hi Mikey. I have the Eagles doing that song, too. But, I can't ask a question because of telephone line problems. Please ask one for me.

New Questions.....

here's the lyrics.....

When you're weary and feeling small
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all
I'm on your side, oh when times get rough
And friends just can't be found

New Question.....

here's the lyrics.....

I'd gladly walk across the desert
With no shoes upon my feet
To share with you the last bite
Of bread I had to eat
I would swim out to save you
In your sea of broken dreams
When all your hopes are sinkin'
Let me show you what love means

______________, between your heart and mine.
