I don't see how it could be other -?
You wrote small; the full title to the Marley song is small axe.

Hi Piffka..... it's OK if two people ask a question at the same time.

My internet connection is really slow tonight, because we're downloading some music, so I can't get into Google to look for answers, and I don't have a clue about the first recorded song. Is it 'Happy Birthday'???

New Question.......

here's the lyrics.....

I was standing on the sidewalk, had a noise in my head,
There were loudspeakers babbling, but nothing was said,
There were twenty seven companies of female marines,
There were presidential candidates in new Levi jeans,

It was the red, white, and blue, planning how to endure,
The fife, drum, and bugle, marching down on the poor,
God Bless America, without any doubt,
And I figured it was time to get out.

.......name that tune.......

:-)

That's right, Edgar! Sorry to tweak you a little Laughing ... but I did ask for the title to the song. (Can you hum a few bars?)

I didn't know you can have more than one question going at a time. Is that usual?

Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up to Me -- Richard Farina

Which group sang this:

This is the early evening edition of the news.
The recent fight in the House of Representatives was over the open housing section of the Civil Rights Bill.
Brought traditional enemies together but it left the defenders of the measure without the votes of their strongest supporters.
President Johnson originally proposed an outright ban covering discrimination by everyone for every type of housing but it had no chance from the start and everyone in Congress knew it.

It may be okay to have a free for all with the questions. It may get confusing and some questions go unanswered but the game will move faster. What do you think?

I think it was Desi and Dino, wasn't it? Or Dino and Desi? I think there might have been a "Billy" in there somewhere too, but its hazy. Never went much for pop.

Nice outfit, edgar ... is it new?

I'll throw out a question, just to keep the game moving......

here's the lyrics......

I'll buy you a diamond ring, my friend,
If it makes you feel all right.
I'll get you anything, my friend,
If it makes you feel all right.
'Cause I don't care too much for money,

.......name that tune.......

Very Happy
