Where in hell are you pulling all these tidbits from? And do we know anything about Tex Ritter's sex life?

Tex Ritter? Sex? Look at his boy, John, from THREE'S COMPANY for a clue.
The answer to my question was Smiley Burnette, the engineer on PETTICOAT JUNCTION.

Oh; and I am pulling these up from a lifetime of memories. 99% of the time I don't need to research, although I did have to pump the wife for the name of John Ritter's sitcom.

The short answer:
Someone caught her bending over
Picking up a daisy

Long answer: The song is "Feudin', Fussin' and Fightin'"
It's about hillbilly feuds.
One verse says:
Daughter, dear daughter
Poisoned all the neighbor's chickens
Daughter
Shouldn't oughter
They hit her with a shovel

I don't write 'em, just report 'em. The song was recorded by at least a couple of people. I am reasonably certain Judy Canova did the version I recall.

Joanne, it was
OLD BLACK JOE

Jerry Lee Lewis made a rock 'n' roll version of this song in the 60s.

Here is the song, in part:

LINDA

When I go to sleep
I never count sheep
I count all the charms about Linda
And lately it seems
In all my dreams
I walk with my arms about Linda

But what good does it do me
For Linda doesn't know I exist

What was the song's inspiration?

here's the lyrics.... from the title song on his 1998 CD.....

It's like living in a nightmare,
Like looking in the blackest hole,
Like standing on the edge of nothing,
Completely out of control.
Now where have I been all these years
And how come I just couldn't see?
Like a blind man walking 'round in darkness,
I was a ..............

I asked the inspiration for a song called Linda. It got lost in the shuffle. Answer: When a friend of the family first met toddler Linda McCartney he wrote the song inspired by her. It was a million seller.

I need you so badly
I misss you so much
My days are so lonely
My nights are so blue
I'm here and I'm lonely
I'm waitin' for you
