Saltless soft water conditioner

We have a 8 yr old CUNO (by Aqua Pure) that we need to replace due to cost of a replacement control value costing $800+. Looking at a saltless soft water conditoner, not sure which is best. Your suggestion on Pelican, or Next Scale Stop? Or go with Clack which is not saltless?
