Is it OK to use salt pellets in Autotrol 1550TC water softener?

My house has a Autotrol 1550-TC water softer installed by previous owner. The manual says it takes 25 lbs salt block. It is OK to use the salt pellets in a bag?

Salt pellets are fine. Do not know where they recommend salt blocks anymore let alone sell it for water softeners.
