Hi,
For those of you who are teachers, I'd be curious to know who influenced you to become one. I consider myself a quasi-teacher because, although I have the multiple-subject-clear-credential, I do not teach for a living.
Someone who influenced me, aside from my father (who taught university), was Bel Kaufman. She wrote the book, Up the Down Staircase, which immediately clicked with me. And she's no dilettante, either. She based the book largely on her years of teaching. (No one could make that stuff up!) And the film was excellent, as well.
Just curious
