@Region Philbis,
Mighty good game, especially at the end. With everyone horizontal in front of the goal and 6 ft 9 in Chara stretched out his frame and steered away a shot on goal in that melee on the end. I takes a village...etc.

@Region Philbis,
Iginla...sweet irony.
But how awesome was Marchand's laser pass to set up McQuaid?

@panzade,
"Despite having the top scoring offense in the league, the Penguins were beaten in the series by the Bruins 4-0. Iginla, along with Crosby and Malkin, registered a combined 0 points in the series; making Iginla's decision to spurn the Bruins highly questionable. Iginla played particularly poorly in the series and was moved to the third line after an embarrassing 6-1 Game 2 loss. Iginla looked old, slow, and prodding on the ice the entire series. Milan Lucic said after the series that Iginla's spurning of Boston ignited the Boston sweep, "When a guy chooses another team over your team, it does light a little bit of a fire underneath you." "

@Region Philbis,
Watching Chara sprawling and making that insane glove save with his incredible stretch, I'm reminded of the fact that he basically is LeBron James-sized body and girth only on skates. LBJ let's see you try that!

I just learned that at 6ft 9in, he's the biggest man ever to play in the NHL.

@Ragman,
In my opinion Chara was the difference in the 7 game series against the Canucks. Chara and goalie Tim Thomas.
There's a reason he wears the big "C" on his jersey. He's very well respected

@panzade,
I used to follow NHL hocket much more closely, but not so much in this decade. Incidentally, I've seen 3 Bolts games here in Tampa.

I understand, re Chara, over the latter part of his career he's become quite a balanced offensive defenseman. Apparently, he's got the hardest slapshot (108.8 mph) and has won quite a few of the competitions. He's sure impressed me in these and the previous playoffs.

Interestingly, Boston and Chicago have been together in the NHL since 1926, but this is the first time the two teams have faced each other in the Stanley Cup finals.

@panzade,
Almost heading out of the 2nd O/T. You'd think that they'd be falling over each other. Amazing amount of stamina! Quality of play is pretty decent.

GO Broonz!
