I think I sound a wee bit like Elvis in this song, especially in the last verse (hehe). It was not intentional; it just came out that way. Baxter's Boulevard is a road in Portland Maine that has a walking/jogging/bike path where people can stroll around the "back bay" and enjoy the scenery on nice days. The music style is reminiscent of British music hall; it comes out the middle verse. Thanks for your support and listens!

Firstly, it was a pleasure to listen to. Thanks for sharing it. You clearly, IMHO, have a lot of talent.

If I were to make a parallel connection to someone in the past pantheon of male rock singers..it would be Jim Morrison and the Doors. The progressions are sort of Doors-ish. That's not say I think your were trying to copy. Also, I might add, does it suffer if someone were to make such a comparison.

Does inspiration occur before or after the beat?

beats me.

A Living Wage

The Bible says to work heartily
My boss thinks I should work for free
I slave all day like a prisoner in a cage
I can’t seem to make a living wage

Everyone has their hand out
I just laugh ‘cause there is no doubt
There is nothing I have left to give
On minimum wage I can barely live

All I can do is make another person rich
More for less is their constant pitch
There is nothing left for the average Joe
The American dream left main street long ago
