Hey RexRed peeps! Here is an update on what I am doing. I am working on a new song for you. First off, sorry I have not released my new Star Trek video. I had to take a break from it for a while. My eyes were irritated from scanning through so many clips. It will be better when I continue editing afresh on that. I will release it soon and it will be even better because i gave myself time to do it right. I am working on a really nice song I wrote called "Save the Sky". It is about how people are always calling out for the sky to save them (or rather some sky God). But the reality is, it is our sky crying out for us to save it. Smog and CO2 gases are clogging our sky with toxic pollutants. Instead, if we "Save the Sky" we are saving ourselves. Save the Sky will be done soon, It has a lot of harmony parts and they are currently at the moment giving me brain overload. I am figuring out a strategy to help me focus on the harmonies. I need to spread the many "takes" out across more tracks and then slowly refine them back into three or four tracks. Life is about learning how to take a complex scenario and simplify it down to its most common denominator. Love is the most common denominator peeps! Much love! Red

Save The Sky
To clean the air
Who could give a care
We'll make our home
In the dirty ozone
Mix it all together
And call it smog
Send it up to Maine
Hide it in the fog
Save the sky
Hear the children cry
Save the sky
The human race will die
Save the sky
It's time to try
Save the sky
We've got to save the sky
The Earth really knows
The mess that we've made
The Earth can't see through
This pollutant blockade
If we burn the sky
'Til the lightning bolts fly
In humanities cry
We'll all die
It's a shame
It's always the same
Everyone's too busy
Playin' the game
To hear the cry
We've got to save the sky!

Hey Red fans, I am still working on the song "Save The Sky", I finally got the harmony parts done. Now I am faced with the challenge to make the music itself more interesting. Save The Sky is only a two chord song, it has a kind of monotony drone built into its character on purpose. So it goes back and forth between the two chords for the whole song. This can get tiresome for the listener after a few listens. My job is to tire you as little as possible and keep you interested and enjoying yourself while repetitively listening to the same song. So to make the song more interesting I add various sounds and instruments to distract you from the fact that the song only has two chords continuously switching back and forth. So that is what I am doing now. A few subtle well placed background melodies, arpeggios and adding portamento to the lead solo synth is where I am starting. I will be adding some jazz chord riffs to spruce up the two main chords in places, some drum rolls, cymbals and as much variety to the bass runs as possible without the bass guitar becoming a distraction. Hope to have it ready soon and uploaded to reverbnation. BTW, if you like a particular song of mine on reverbnation please download it while it is there. As more songs are uploaded older songs that have been there for a while will be removed. That particular mix of the song may never again be published as it will be headed for an album and I may choose a completely different mix for its album. So you will be one of the few people who will own a copy of that particular version of the song. Hugs and much love always peeps! RR
