I am trying to go to a honey blonde color.
I've dyed my hair 1x yesterday and 3xs today trying to acheieve this.
went to sally beauty supples to get my stuff and advice.
1st I used garnier frutice dark to blonde (didn't work)
Then I did loreal blonde for dark hair (only lightened roots)
Then i used something call aragan oil dye did nt work well.
Then I put a toner like they said and It didn't work.
Lastly I bought a 40 delevloper and loreal honey blonde for dark hair applied and left for 30 mins.
lot of my hair changed but my hair is very long and most of it is still brown.
What is my next step.
Someone please help!!

Hope this link works so u can see what I'm dealing with.

@tabithad,
ive definitively been there....since you've have processed your hair 3x in a short period of time i would do some deep conditioning and then if you are truly trying to go lighter you are going to either need to strip you hair and then add the honey color youre trying to achieve orrr the way I always do it for myself is bleach your head see what color comes out but leave the bleach on with 40 toner for 60 mins then if the blonde you are looking for isnt achieve by this put the honey blonde color of your choice on and above but in order to go from dark to light you are going to have some damage done to your hair. Hope this helps you can find all the supplies necessary for either at sally's. Smile

I agree with everything said above.
I just want to add that dye adds colour, it doesn't lighten hair. In order to go from dark to light you must bleach your hair. Only then can you add colour to get your preferred blonde shade.

@No1nose,
http://i1311.photobucket.com/albums/s677/tabithaduarte/20130404_160925_zpsf2d8b369.jpg

This is what my hair looks like now.
Someone bleached it for me and then put a protein color correcter then used a toner.
But there is some parts that are darker and lighter the. The rest of my hair.
What can I do to fix that?
Can I just re-dye my hair or what should I do

@tabithad,
Oh Dear Shocked

Witchy, just witchy..............................

Personally, I saw that as a "good" question, in a "nice" manner...Such as, "wow, what beautiful hair, long, great colour", to " why do you feel the need to change it so dramatically, and consequently killing your hair in the process of trying to do it, all in one day, over and over and over"............

Don't most women change the colour of their hair because they are bored with the way it looks? I think so......................................................

@tabithad,
That was a real question, re why you find you own hair boring.

Of course you can play with color for the rest of your life.

@FOUND SOUL,
I did it because I didn't like my brown hair.
I thought u were saying it in a bad way, sorry.
Sometimes when I come on these forums and post stuff people make me feel dumb for posting a question.
So again I'm sorry.
I liked my other color but I've never been light brown or blonde so I wanted to give it a whirl and see what I end up with.
Surprisingly my hair is still in very good condition.
Luckily Smile

@tabithad,
Sometimes ya gotta hate the Internet Wink

Change is good, to be honest, it's all the thing now to have two tones in your hair and with your length, stunning... Have a glance at some magazines...

I am blonde myself, though went dark when I left my husband Wink Blonde again now... But I intend to get a second colour soon, bored? Maybe ......

Just don't go bleach blonde, in my opinion it looks fake but also the roots grow so fast you'll be dying it every 4 weeks until you get "bored" and decide to go dark again ...............................

@tabithad,
Thanks for not getting all mad at me. I like healthy hair, and think hair just naturally makes sense with our genetic background - and like it, for being that way.

At the same time, I get hair play, should you go in that direction. I guess I just wonder about escape from self stuff...

I'm older. I've lived with brown hair and had many friends who were blonde, attractants for some guys. I've ironed my hair. I've straighteded it re some drug store concoction. I spent years sleeping on rollers. At some point I gave up and liked my own hair, in time for it to be healthy and enjoyable.

Do your thing, but don't just hate your own hair.

@FOUND SOUL,
Yeah I've noticed a lot of people like the two tone look idk if its for me . Especially since the look isn't even it goes like light dark and then light again but not evenly.

@ossobuco,
I defiantly love my hair but I want to explore right now I think I kinda look better with light hair than dark hair. At some point ill prolly get tired of doing all this stuff like u.
I usually just go natural no straightner curler nothing just down and brushed.
I don't like to spend too much time fixing my hair lol

@tabithad,
Do you think you could manage to just let your hair rest for a few days?

One thing I've been told (and learned from experience) is that colour processing works best on slightly dirty/oily hair. Each time you've processed it, you've also washed it and taken more natural oil out.

Braid it, stick on a baseball cap ... let it all rest for a few days if possible. Work out - get your head sweaty ... then you may have better luck with processing. Given the length of your hair and what you've been doing, you're probably going to have to start the next round of processing at the bottom rather than the top.

(disclosure: my current hair is toffee-coloured at the top/side/back - the bangs and bits sort of in front of my ears are bright red - I like messing with colour Very Happy )

@tabithad,
one other thing - don't try to get all of your hair one colour - it really looks unnatural and it's brutal for keeping up with the roots - they are much more obvious on single-coloured hair (that's why highlights/low lights are popular - much more natural-looking and less maintenance)

@ossobuco,
hehehehe

the last time I saw my natural hair colour was the year I turned 30 and shaved my head (other than my bangs)

It was an ok colour growing in ... but I love to mess with hair!

@ehBeth,
So after a few days what do I do?
Toner, dye, bleach???
There are only two spots that are not close to the same color.
Besides those spots I like my hair.

@tabithad,
Which bit are you still trying to change?

I like most of your hair in the second photo ... I'd probably add a few low-lights around the temple so it is more natural-looking like the rest of your hair. The strands of caramel/honey are nice mixed together.

@ehBeth,
Right by my eyes on each side my hair is still kinda brown that is the only problem I have with my hair!
