Did the "notifications" section change recently?

Did "Notifications" (Settings -> notifications ->email) change recently? I can't select the individual ones I want to turn off - there used to be over 100 options for me to fine-tune what I can turn off. Now it looks like I have to wait for an email to arrive, and then "unsubscribe" from that email only! Is this true?
