Sometimes I want to get involved in the conversation on my favorite ("Like") facebook accounts. But I do not want the information that I commented a photo or post to be visible on my friends facebook homepages. How to turn of this option? Thank you for help.

Send them private messages. Otherwise, I believe the setting would be on their end, and not yours.
