I need a formula that calculates the following:
the range i have is from -4.75 to 4.75. I put in 6 numbers random negative and positive but when one of the numbers reach the -4.75 or 4.75 it should bring it back lower but have to ad it up to the other side of the zero line.
example:
I have the numbers 2.45, -3.67 ,0.34, -1.22, 4.75, 3.12
now the 4.75 has to go back but what you go back on that number adds up the negative numbers. so if I go from 4.75 to 3.75 that one point adds up at -3.67 and -1.22 and makes it -4.67 and -2.22.
the -3.67 is still with in range.
who can help me with making a formula?
thanks
@peterhuijts,
"when one of the numbers reach the -4.75 or 4.75 it should bring it back lower but have to ad it up to the other side of the zero line."
I can't figure out what that means. Are you trying make sure that the calculation doesn't go over or under the range? E. g. if a number less than -4.75 (say, -5) is included, it's supposed to be changed to -4.75, and then the calculation is performed?
