You say, Canary Islands? Hmm, online sources stated that Don D. de M. was born in Malaga (i.e. in Andalusia)...
About Jewish roots: many Spanish and Latin American people (I mean Spanish descendants, and not Indians) have these. I have read some info of this kind regarding Generalissimo Francisco Franco and about the Cuban dictator Fidel Castro (by the way, there are families in Israel that bear surnames Franco or Castro, and these people are definitely Sepharadic Jews).
By all means, I want to make it clear that I have performed a reverse search just for checking the possibilities of the Google search engine, and not for disclosing your incognito.

This is kinda fascinating...
Nope-I'm in no way googlified. The real me, that is.
There are MILLIONS of people with my actual name. One shares my doctor-they're always getting the records mixed. I've taken to ID-ing myself by my name and birthdate.
And Joan Dark? The paste job is an interesting example. Didn't read all the 70'leven pages-just first & last-assuming I'm not there!

Joan, JoanDark, JoanBright. Interesting stuff. But the real Joan has too common a name to be listed for sure. I bet your father is there.

I'm guessing that the Spanish Inquisition was the cause of immigration and lots of name changing and other practices to hide Jewish connections. My doorman (from Puerto Rico) recently learned that his ancestors were Jewish.

LOL ... in my lightly-populated postal zipcode there is a fellow with whom I share both first and last name, and middle initial. The names themselves are not particularly common, and as they are coupled with the same middle initial, some entertaining (at least to me Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes Twisted Evil ) confusion arises from time to time. The other fellow, a fine person indeed, is pastor of a church. As may be imagined, I am somewhat otherly inclined.

On the first try, I didn't enter my maiden name so this time, I did.

I was already aware of a famous person with my name and, sure enough, there she was. If I had half her talent, I would think I'd died and gone to heaven. Considering her profligate talent and my lack thereof, there is very little possibility that we are related.

The only other one is a scientist (another unlikely relation for the same reason) and the rest seemed to repeat the same two people.

Joanie, there is a woman with my name who sees the same doctor. There have been a couple of mixed up appointments. I always identify myself as the old one. Very cronelike, don't you think?

The advantages of having an unusual last name--no mix-ups at the doctor, no one on Google floating around with my moniker but me. Didadvantages--can't foist off my mistakes on the other Roberta.

Yesterday put my name into google to see if anything new popped up. Something did. Innocuous looking enough. Looked to be someone's page about going off to college.

Hadn't occurred to me that it might be gay porn. I'd be worried if I hadn't become confident that nobody's monitoring my work activities some time ago.
