Mixing CD and MP3 songs

I will soon be trying to make a "home-made" CD. My first thought was to use all MP3 songs, but I found that many of the titles I intended to use are not available in the MP3 format. But I do have most, maybe all, of them on CD. Is it possible to make a CD containing both CD and MP3 songs? If so, how could I do a "combined" CD?

@Woollcott,
Why don't you burn the CD tracks onto your hard drive while converting them into MP3's with the media player software you use and then burn a homemade CD with all MP3's.
