Could be, Finn.
Some people think golf is life in microcosm. Golfers think life is golf in microcosm.
Six of one...
@Frank Apisa,
Then you shouldn't dismiss the show.

Soap operas are structured fictional narratives, whereas life isn't. Or is it?
@contrex,
Equally, they are narratives based on what the screenwriters and producers think will sell, as opposed to a genuine attempt to portray life as it is.
Oh dear, I am stuck on this show. I was SHOCKED I tell you at the last installment. Reading to catch up.
@boomerang,
I don't know what anything has to do with the American way of doing things. It looks like the last vestiges of feudalism.

Well, I think that
feudalism is something different. (Feudalism ended in England with the Bill of Rights and Common Law.)
@Lash,
I love the show, Lash. As I mentioned earlier, it really is just a period soap opera, but I love the characters and it massages my Anglophile disposition. I too was shocked at this last episode.
@Frank Apisa,
Spoilers on the next post.....
@DrewDad,
That is almost enough to make me join Facebook!
@DrewDad,
I did not look at the next post, but is it stuff from England? I've seen all episodes aired in America. Answer me by PM, DrewDad...I will not come back here if major spoilers have been posted.
@Frank Apisa,
I don't click the link until I've watched the most current episode. That way I know I won't hit a spoiler.

No, it's for the episode that aired in the States last weekend.
@Frank Apisa,
So you've not seen the episode where Captain Kirk gets pushed through a wormhole into the grounds of Downton? The battle scene with the Klingons is probably the finest piece of TV this year alone.
Just saw the finale of season 3, and all I can say is, Julian Fellowes is an evil, sadistic person.
The car Matthew was driving was out-of-period, I think. The time frame had to be about 1920-21, and the car whatever it was looked to be something around late 20s or 1930.
They're supposed to be starting production on season 4 right around now, with whover is left alive.
@MontereyJack,
I think they should completely reverse directions, and make it into a zombie flick.
@MontereyJack,
I had read that the actor who plays Matthew wasn't coming back for season 4 so I knew he had to get killed. I'm just glad he got to see the baby.
I don't know if Ripper Street has made it over to America yet, but that's another costume drama with an eye on the American market. It's quite gritty though.
