If you asked me what would be the first thing I would do when in NYC....it would be to get the **** out.

you can visit some classified ads that has an apartment section, I'm sure craiglist list has that... you also try others.

these are good points, but I think it depends on the place you are trying to look for. In other country it has different situation so I guess this tips doesn't get in general. This list gives us some idea still thankful for sharing this
