Gals, to save me a whole morning Googling, what's the best glue to apply a patch, say, a coarse fabric to knee of jeans
White glue works pretty well but finally succumbs to wetting
Thanks ladies
@dalehileman,
I'll not post a link, dale, as I hate spam.
go to the hobby or sewing store and ask for fabric glue...
good luck.
(not a gal)

Well technically an arbitrary link or two from a regular poster isn't spam as you (the hypothetical link dropper) aren't profiting from the potential clicks to the link in your post.
This article says to use fabric glue:

Probably the best place is to go to an arts and crafts or fabric store to acquire such glue. Or buy it via amazon.com if you don't mind the wait on the shipping.
@tsarstepan,
I have never hesitated to post what I think is a helpful link. Sometimes I just don't bother, but when I do, I have nothing to gain.

@tsarstepan,
Thanks again Rock and Tsar,and you might be right on
Sometimes however a specialty glue is one presently on hand but given a more impressive name. Being hopelessly lazy I was wondering if anyone had tried silicone or certain other very flexible contact adhesives such as Goop
@dalehileman,
name recognition is mostly about good advertizing.
you want a glue especially for fabric.
singer makes a good one...

Okay Rock but not familiar with the colloquial; what is it exactly
@dalehileman,
how do you expect to ever get a silly scroll bar if you don't know about the red ribbons?
really...?
Be even lazier and buy the iron on patches. I've seen them at Safeway before.
@dalehileman,
Silicone is good for lots of things, as is Shoe Goo, but go with fabric glue as suggested for fabric.

as many questions as you ask, it's a wonder anyone answers you anymore if you are not handing out the coveted red ribbons.
it's kinda like the thank-you notes your mom used to make you write at christmas and gradiation...
