i have a rainsoft aq24ct system that seems not to be working i know this is an older sysyem and want to upgrade without paying rainsoft prices is there a powerhead that i can replace the old one with maybe a fleck or similar and if so what else will i need to replace

A digital Fleck 2510 or better would be a great upgrade, but it's not an easy DIY swap because you have
to replace the riser pipe and salt tank. You also need to make new water and drain connections.

I have a few used Q valves available. They are complete direct replacements, no modifications needed.

well it looks like the shear pin has broken they are coming tomorrow to repair but it would be nice to have a spare how much would you like for one thanks

As for the sheared pin, there is a reason it sheared.

Have the tech replace the 3 'O' rings on the piston and replace the entire brine injector. The brine injector has 2 small 'o' rings that can be replaced, but the injector tube is usually brittle and cracks when pulled.
The service tech should also replace the brine & drain shut off tabs plus any associated parts that are worn or corroded.
