@oristarA,
Can't see your pics ori, but people who don't like veggies have stunted taste buds.

@oristarA,
It's a button mushroom, I'm not sure what the green stuff is, as fungi is never green.

Not mushroom Ceili. It is much bigger and heavier than any mushroom. I bought one from market this morning, which weighed one kilogram.
I believe it is one of the varieties of radish, but it tastes better.

Like white radish:

@oristarA,
that is turnip

Many Chinese restaurants use the term turnip and radish interchangeably here. I know that they are related plants but the tastes are so different that it's always a surprise to order a radish cake and be served turnip instead.

@Ceili,
White radish is daikon.

The original photo was of turnip, not white radish.

@djjd62,
Different varietal.

There are several completely white turnips like this one ...

When I go to the Chinese markets on Spadina, or go to T&T, I often find a half-dozen or more types of turnips. Even the No-Frills now has 3 or 4 regularly - they bought out T&T so their (Loblaws/No-Frills/Zehrs) has much better mushroom/fungus/turnip/bok choy-family options now.

@Ceili,
You were right that the photo of the longer, more tubular white things was of daikon. It was the original photo of the d.i.s.k.l.i.k.e. white objects that was of turnip.

Very Happy
