Germany should act as the leader of the union in the same that the United States did for the free world after World War Two, Soros said at a luncheon hosted by the National Association for Business Economics.
Soros, founder of the Open Society Foundations and a founding sponsor of the Institute for New Economic Thinking, said Germany needs to step up to save the euro and the euro bond plan because "if it successful, it would cost very little, but if it fails, it would drag down Germany."
Issuing euro bonds would be a way to share risk across the euro zone.
Soros floated another solution to the more than two-year-old crisis: let Germany leave the euro. "The problem would disappear in thin air," as the value of the euro declines and yields on the bonds of debtor countries adjust, he said

I started wondering on A2K almost two years ago if the euro crisis might result in Germany leaving. I was called an out of touch idiot, no way that could ever happen...."JUST LISTEN TO WHAT THE EXPERTS ARE SAYING!" i was told.

I so love proving to be ahead of the curve.

I cannot take anyone seriously who, like Soros, is a follower of Karl Popper.

@hawkeye10,
'I started wondering almost two years ago if the euro crisis might result in Germany leaving (the eurozone)', this is how hawkeye10 put it. You seem to know how to make your brain work!
It looks quite real. Why on earth should Germany pay for all the losers participating in eurozone? And here in Bavaria we are just sick and tired of that stupid Germany's generosity. That's why we now think not only about leaving the eurozone (this is going to be our second step). While our first one should be to quit Germany, the sooner the better. You see the Bavarians still haven't gotten over the trauma of joining the German Empire in 1871 and present policy of Germany only adds fuel to our strong desire to stay alone. With the annual economic output of $550 bln we'd do quite well imo.
