I heard a lot of people saying reciprocal linking is not good. Reciprocal links or in general exchanging links with other sites is very good but your shuld be careful with whom you are exchanging links. You should also consider finding link partners that are in a similar web trend with your website. For example if you sell toys it's not helpful exchaning links with a web hosting company.

@sbglobal2013,
Yes, and you should try to get links on highly-ranked pages. It doesn't do you a lot of good to get linked to on pages that don't have any traction, either.

@jespah,
Reciprocal links are also known as "link swaps", "link exchanges" and "link partners".

A common misspelling is "reciprical links".

@sbglobal2013,
A reciprocal link is a mutual link between two objects, commonly between two websites to ensure mutual traffic.When web sites link to each other, either directly or indirectly through a number of different pages, a search engine might consider those links to be reciprocal links.

@Strongmandigital,
A reciprocal link is an agreement between two webmasters to provide a hyperlink within their own website to each other's web site. Generally this is done to provide readers with quick access to related sites, or to show a partnership between two sites.
