Rent television and many other latest daily use electronic gadgets like fridge, washing machine, grinder and much more at affordable costs. You can just rent them as long as you need them.
Rent television
@uanchartmann123,
Sure you can rent electronics, you can also buy them and make payments, for instance credit card payments, then you would own them.
@jcboy,
or simply pay cash - if you cannot afford to pay cash all at once, many appliance stores have financing and with interest rates so low you should be able to finance with little or no interest rates.
@Linkat,
True. Renting them is big here in Florida. I see the commercials all the time. Some advertise flat screen TV’s for $24.00 a week, how silly is that. Almost a hundred bucks a month and you don’t even own it!
@uanchartmann123,
Stores for renting appliances are legalized highway robbery. Especially their hideously grotesque rent to own programs. You end up paying for triple or quadruple the appliances price IF and WHEN you get to the end of the contract period.
@tsarstepan,
Most likely these high charges are due to higher risk of the renting companies. Higher risk could be: potential damage to items and not returning them.
Think of car rentals - they are significantly higher than buying a car. People tend not to take care of property as well if they don't really own it.
Once in a while renting is a better idea than buying.
Years back, my BF and I got a roommate, who knew he would only be with us 3 or 4 months. He rented a bedroom set, paid just a few bucks a month, far far less than if he had purchased. When he moved, he didn't have the hassle of the moving expense, and could just leave.
It ends up he didn't even have to forfeit his small deposit, as at that time my sister moved in with us. While she decided what she wanted to do, she just kept up the monthly payments, and again, when she moved into her own place, she didn't have the problem of moving furniture she didn't want, had just laid out a few dollars in monthly rent, and it served the purpose of having a bed, dresser etc.
Renting furniture is also a great idea if your staging a home.
If I was going to rent out a room in my house, I'd probably at least initially furnish it with a rented bedroom set. I just looked, and I could get a basic set for as low as $75/mo.....copied from site...
This room includes:
Urban Nightstand
Urban Headboard Full/Queen
Claiborne Plush Queen Mattress
Urban Dresser
Universal Boxspring Queen
Urban Mirror
If the renter had their own stuff, just send it back.
Also good if you're going to have a guest who is going to stay for at least a few weeks.
@chai2,
I can see it working for a short term solution - being at a temporary location or staging.
I do wonder how many deadbeats these rental places get. I remember getting a phone call once from a local rental place. They were asking for a certain person. I said nope don't know them. They repeated the phone number and name again - nope. By the sigh and sound of the voice sounded like the rental place got a deadbeat that took off with their stuff.
@uanchartmann123,
Hello to one and all,
Yes, you are absolutely right. TV rental has become very popular in recent years with technology changing fast and becoming less reliable. When you rent a TV, you don't have to worry about your TV going out of date and becoming obsolete or breaking down.
Thanks and Regards,
