I have a Rainsoft water softner model AQ32cT9, purchased in 1992. Computer board works except for start cycle.i can't make it regernate,also will not regernate at time already set in it. Battery new,motor in back runs but drive cam not moving. Can anyone help???

It sounds like it's the shear pin, if the piston gets caught in the valve, the shear pin will break...so it won't ruin the motor. The shear pin is is located on the shaft that is attached to the drive motor.

The piston needs to be pulled, O rings replaced and reinstalled.
I would freshen the brine injector O rings and shut off tabs while
I had it torn down. Replace the sheared pin and return it to service.
