The 9-Letter Word Puzzle - Challenge #2

OK wordsmyths (or those who are skiving at work), here's another little teaser that should keep your brain cells frying for a while:

I'm looking for a 9-letter English word (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9) which matches the following

Clues:
The letters 2, 8, & 3 (in that order) spell a GREEK LETTER.
The letters 4, 5 & 9 (in that order) spell a BODY PART.
The letters 6, 7, 4 & 1 (in that order) spell an INSECT.
The letters 3, 4, 9 & 6 (in that order) spell a SINGLE UNIT.

Notes:
Seven of the nine letters are different.
Five of the nine letters are vowels.
The correct word is found in Webster's Dictionary.

I see you're using your collective wisdom to solve this one. That's smart thinking.

So, has anyone got close to the answer yet?

The answer is: EPITOMISE

GREEK LETTER = PSI
BODY PART = TOE
INSECT = MITE
SINGLE UNIT = ITEM

E, I, M, O, P, S, T were the 7 different letters
E, E, I, I, O were the 5 vowels

Now go to Challenge #3

I think it's the British spellings that are throwing me off. Anyway, I'll blame that. :-D

In honour (or is that "honor") of my American cousins, I made sure that whatever words were selected for this puzzle that they would be listed in Merriam Webster's Dictionary. Smile

Now that's gotta be fair?

Good old kind and considerate Bib.
