I used to take the subway to Manhattan from Brooklyn. I recall getting ready to step off a train one day and I reached for the overhead bar as I poised to make my move. I was lost in thought and I inadvertently placed my hand over the hand of a man standing next to me, without noticing. He noticed, all right. I was lucky to not get punched that trip.
