This was Conway Twitty's first big song. I don't like the way it begins into the song, but the video is priceless.

@edgarblythe,
Notice that Twitty sneer. I mentioned elsewhere that he once sneered directly at me.

Back when the earth was much younger, of course.

@roger,
He had a pock marked face. Lots of make up in the video I guess. Conway was the first concert I went to.

@edgarblythe,
Me too, though there were other singers and groups present. It was called The Shine of Stars, Shine being the trade name of some concoction intended to put a shine on your shoes. The price of admission was something, plus two Shine labels. I have no idea what all the stores in the Miami area did with all those labelless spray cans. A week after the concert, it was never heard from again.

I also saw him promoting his own brand of mobile home in Tulsa. It was end of day, and boy, did he look pooped. I don't think he even sneered that time.

The Conway concert I went to was billed as a big deal, in Corpus Christi. Only 400 people were there. He criticized the crowd for not dancing. We never got a good look at him for the blaring colored lights.

@edgarblythe,
Shockingly, this clip is country-rock and is sung by the same ex-Led Zep singer that many of us fondly remember. They're a solid duet that sounds not just decent but incredible together. (BTW, Krauss has more Grammy's than Quincy Jones.)

Gone, Gone, Gone (cover of an early Everly Brothers hit):

Just for comparison, here's Everly Brothers 1964 version:
