e.g. what Joe is doing might make you want to jump off the trolley, but only because of the rigor of his intellect.
You must be replying to my posting

I will admit to enjoying the interaction but boy does Joe keep on coming back again and again ...
So ... are you trying to tell me I do not smart enough to hang around on this thread?
Nope. I am saying that intellectual
rigor is off-putting to most. This is independent of their intelligence and can be related to tedium, laziness.... many things really.
or lack of time to beat a subject to death.
There ya go. It's rigor. It can be work, time-consuming, tedious, circular....
There's nothing I love more. But I am off-put by the rigor as well.
I asked Raggedyaggie to give me a clue to assist me in solving this week's NYT's crossword puzzle, and she did. I now know that "Welcome aboard" also means bien venue. The puzzle was HARD ipso facto.
What does ipso facto mean?
I want to learn something new.
By the fact or in and of itself, Heeven.
I'm gonna post a link here for a new sign out thread. Hope everyone will take advantage of it.

I learned about capybaras. the world's largest rodents. Had to google it after seeing a couple references.
Thank you Phoenix. They are rather charming!
I used to have em all over in Brazil, they never looked like that (looked more like rats).
The gardener used to eat them.
What's the proper wine to serve with capybara?
A melancholy one about how several rodents go under the same name in Brazil and that the dinner is actually a possum.
My husband's neurologist was from Brazil. The only time I got a smile out of him was when I mentioned Brazil66.
Strange, he didn't know you, Craven. Nor had he ever heard of a wooly opposum of South America called a philanderer.
Okapi is a strange striped beast. Learned that, too.
Also learned about an oil used in church rites, thanks to Raggedy.
Learned to remember stuff, and forget other stuff
I learned that 25 pounds isn't as heavy as I thought it would be. To lift and carry that is.
You learned THAT on A2k????
Both littlek & quinn have unwell pussycats.

Oh. It was late and I didn't fully read the thread title.
Heh,heh. Everything is like nine degrees of separation. You read a thread and that reminds you of another--then comes the real life anecdotes--which in turn reminds you of A2K. Soooooooooooooo.
Brazil66 and Astrud Gilberto are really a bi -product of the original.
